Hi Everyone,

On behalf of the members I welcome you to the website of the Rotary Club of Hertford Shires and we also look forward to welcoming you in person at one of our breakfast meetings on Wednesdays in Ware, Hertfordshire. You will find us to be a very friendly and lively club.

It gives me enormous pleasure to be elected President for this year. I know that the enthusiasm of the members will ensure another successful year of service to help with our local, national and international ambitions.

You can read more about our activities in the other reports on the website but two of our major fundraising events may be of particular interest as they do invite your participation. In April 2010 we shall be holding our St George’s Night celebration and in June our Charity Dragon Boat Challenge. If you would like to register interest in either event then please drop us an e-mail and we will keep you informed.

Internationally, Rotary is behind a significant global campaign to finally end Polio. A major fundraising campaign will support an immunisation initiative against a disease still prevalent in many poor parts of the world. We will be supporting the campaign, and across East Hertfordshire — with other Rotary Clubs — we will raising awareness of the campaign.
